What we do, aluminium windows & doors
Aluminium windows and doors give you the slimmest sightlines and the largest glass area of any residential system. We supply and install thermally-broken aluminium windows, bi-folds, sliders and single doors across Kent, London, Surrey and the wider South East.
This service suits homeowners specifying a contemporary extension, replacing tired 1990s aluminium (which had no thermal break and no place in a modern home), or wanting a premium finish that will not fade, warp or need repainting. Architects and contractors working in our coverage area are welcome to bring us in at design stage.
Professional installation is critical with aluminium. The frames are unforgiving of any twist in the opening, packing must be exact, and the perimeter seal has to accommodate thermal movement without gaps. Our fitters install aluminium every week and understand where the modern systems differ from the old cold-frame aluminium many homeowners still remember.

What happens if you leave it
Cheap or badly-fitted aluminium is a false economy. Systems without a proper polyamide thermal break run cold internally, causing condensation on the frames themselves, the classic 1990s aluminium problem, and adding to your heating bill.
Skipping powder-coat quality is another expensive mistake. Marine-grade powder coating on quality systems lasts decades; cheaper coatings chalk and fade within years, especially on south-facing elevations.
The most common mistake we correct is under-specifying the system for the opening size. Sliding doors especially need the right track and running gear for the panel weight, undersize gear feels fine on day one and fails within a year.
From first call to sign-off

Sales representative visit
One of our sales representatives comes out first to walk the property, understand what you want, talk through options, materials and finishes, and outline indicative pricing. No pressure, no time-limited discounts.
- STEP 2
Surveyor & fixed written quote
If you want to proceed, our surveyor attends separately to measure every opening precisely, check structural context (lintels, thresholds, reveals) and lock in the specification. You then receive a fixed written quote to compare like-for-like.
- STEP 3
Manufacture
Frames are fabricated to your survey by our accredited aluminium partners. Lead time is typically four to six weeks; we confirm fitting once stock lands.
- STEP 4
In-house fitting team install
Fitters remove the existing openings, prepare reveals, install and pack the aluminium frames dead level, and seal internally and externally with the correct expanding tapes and mastics.
- STEP 5
Test, FENSA & guarantee
Every opener and lock is tested, drainage is checked, and the install is registered with FENSA. You receive a 10-year workmanship guarantee.

Aluminium frames put dramatically more glass and less frame in front of you than any uPVC alternative.

The strength-to-weight ratio of aluminium supports much larger single panes than other materials, critical for contemporary extensions.

Multi-point locking, internally-beaded glazing and heavy-duty running gear on sliders and bi-folds make forced entry difficult.
Aluminium Windows & Doors, how we specify
Aluminium is a broad system category. Below are the specification decisions we walk through at survey.
Casement, tilt-and-turn & fixed
Casement is the flexible everyday choice. Tilt-and-turn suits upper-storey rooms, the tilt position ventilates safely and the turn position opens fully inwards for cleaning and fire escape. Fixed picture windows achieve the largest glass areas and the slimmest frames of any option.
Sliding doors vs bi-folds
Both are valid depending on how you want to use the opening. Sliders give you a large glass area even when closed, so the view is uninterrupted year-round; bi-folds give you a completely open aperture in warm weather. We explain the trade-offs at survey rather than pushing you toward one.
Thermal break & U-values
Every system we install includes a polyamide thermal break between internal and external aluminium sections. We quote U-values in writing so you can compare like-for-like against other quotes.
Powder-coat finishes
RAL colours in matt, satin or gloss. Anthracite grey (RAL 7016) remains the most-specified. Textured 'grain' finishes hide handling marks better than smooth finishes on high-traffic openings.
Residential vs commercial
Shopfronts, offices and small commercial premises use heavier commercial-grade aluminium systems (typically 55mm+ frame depths) with door-closers and panic hardware where applicable. We quote to commercial specification when required.

Are aluminium windows warm enough for the UK climate?

Yes, modern polyamide-broken systems achieve U-values fully in line with Part L requirements. The old association between aluminium and cold frames refers to pre-2000 systems that had no thermal break.
How long does installation take?

Typical residential jobs run one to three days on site once frames are in. Larger commercial installs run to programme with the builder or main contractor.
How long should aluminium windows and doors last?

The frames themselves outlast most of the buildings they are fitted into. Running gear on sliders and bi-folds is serviceable and can be renewed as needed after 20+ years of use.
Do the powder-coat finishes fade?

Marine-grade powder coating on the systems we install is stable for decades. Cheaper coatings on unbranded systems can chalk within years, one of the reasons we recommend the systems we install.
Can I have dual-colour frames?

Yes, a different RAL finish inside and out is available at no significant premium and is popular in kitchen extensions with a light internal palette against dark external framing.
